Years and years ago, I attended a Bread Machine class given at the Omaha Extension office by a young pastor’s wife.
Part of the class fee was her “cookbook” that included many wonderful homemaking tips.
One tip was to get a bread machine and make homemade bread every day.
And sometimes I do just that.
My first was a Zojirushi and I used it until it died. twice.
The machine I use now is a Cuisinart
I highly recommend you get a bread machine.
I use mine to make dough for rolls, pizza and sweet breads.
I also make bread in the machine, too. It’s so easy to fix it at night and wake to the smell of bread!
Red Mittens Cinnamon Rolls
1 1/3 Cup Milk
3 T. Butter
3 T. Sugar
2/3 t. Salt
1 1/2 t. Yeast
4 Cups Flour (I use a blend of 1 C. Bread Flour and 1 C. AP Flour and 1 C. White Wheat Flour and then see how much more is needed.)
Place the above ingredients in machine in order recommended by your instruction manual and use the dough cycle.
Remove when done and roll and/or press into a rectangle on a piece of parchment paper.
Brush 1 T. Cream over the dough and sprinkle cinnamon & sugar over.
Roll up and slice into rolls.
Put in a buttered pan and let rise until doubled. (Maybe 40 minutes.)
Bake at 350* for 20 minutes. Add glaze of powdered sugar and milk while still warm.
Megan told me she was craving a sticky pecan roll, so I made these a little different!
I used my King Arthur Sticky Bun Sugar Mix and some pecans.
They turned out pretty good for my first try.
My assistant agrees, too!
