Where Women Create magazine came out this week and Megan is featured in it. She’s on the cover!
We just love Jo Packham, the editor, and had a great time meeting her when she came to photograph Megan in her studio.
Paula Jansen, the photographer, was so interesting to meet!

Megan does most of Princess Lasertron work on the computer.

Teresa McFayden and Cari Kraft were also featured in the magazine. We all went out to dinner after Jo & Paula’s long days of photographing in Omaha and Blair.

And now, after waiting so many months, the magazine is out. We had a party to celebrate! Overdone, of course.

The Navy ROTC was featured on the local ABC News Station Sunday night.
The cutest Midshipman of all, Matt, was in it!

Navy ROTC Husker Stadium Cleanup

They did the clean up after a Husker Game. I’ve watched them work. It is hard, cold, wet, crappy, yucky work.
They all have great attitudes and they get better every time!

Because it is BAD and nobody talks about it.

SEAL-to-be invited friends from this summer.
See TWO friends here? No. Only ONE.
The OTHER friend is still on an airplane.
From Minneapolis to Omaha. A One Hour flight. Took her EIGHT hours.
And she missed the Navy Ball.
SO.
FRUSTRATING.

Tell you what.
THESE girls handled it very well. I was more frustrated.

Saturday Husker Game

Matt just did a flag ceremony…..

AT THE HUSKER GAME!!!

Those boys are dang cute. Did a great job, too.
Elsewhere at the game….

Ran into a few of my cute cousins. ALL my cousins are beautiful. And most of my cousins are girls.
The two on the ends…Kari and Sally, own Johnny’s Cafe and The 1020 Restaurant in Omaha.
Jacqui, in black, has twins. Muffy, in white, is pregnant.
Their mother, will soon be a GreatGreatAunt.
She’s Thrilled.

Dan and I crashed their tailgate party. Look who ELSE crashed it!

TommyLee wasn’t playing this time, but the band comes down the road and stopped and played. LOVE those drums.

Poor Bo. He spend alot of his time at the game doing this!

The Bread Tube

I made bread tonight in an old Pyrex Bread Tube

It is called a Bake-A-Round and I found one of Ebay. My grandmother had one in the 70’s….as did almost everyone back then…..and she used frozen bread dough in it.
I used my bread machine to make regular dough, greased the tube with Crisco, and put the dough in the center. Covered the ends with buttered foil and let it rise in a slightly warm oven. A couple of hours later…

Pretty fun way to bake bread!
The crust was buttery and crispy and the inside was soft.

Here’s my recipe:
3/4 C of water and milk
2 T sugar
1 t salt
1 T Olive Oil
2 C flour…more if needed. I use half unbleached flour and half bread flour.
1 t. yeast
Add to bread machine and make on dough setting. Remove and put in greased Bread Tube. The bread dough should be in the middle of the tube.
Put buttered foil on ends of tube and rise until the bread fills the tube.
Place glass tube on metal holder and bake at 350* for about 20 minutes.

My Whatever Pillow

I bought a pillow from one of my online “friends” a few months ago. I’m at the lakehouse now, wasting time going through pictures on this computer, instead of cleaning the house for the winter.
Because I’m in DENIAL that it is the end of the season. The Summer Season. The Lake Season. The Okoboji Season.
And I have not shown you pictures of this outstanding pillow!

PolkaDotsAndPomPoms get me every time.
Thanks, WhateverMeg, for the great pillow. You are a great mom and a great encourager of MyPrincessLasertron.
And, I’m here to tell you, that there IS an end to the Mommy Hamster Wheel and it is delicious…because the only thing better than naptime is having growed-up children! The best is now…and yet to come.

And a hidden treat in the box! YUM.
