Recently I blogged about making stock in my crockpot.
I didn’t like the outcome as much as making it on the stovetop, but it turned out fine enough!
The REASON I made the stock in my crockpot was to enter a contest hosted by Big Girls Small Kitchen.
Well, I won a prize and it came today!

OXO Prize Pack

What a Prize!
Now I’m a HUGE fan of OXO and I’d like to think I have all their stuff, but I only had ONE of these items. The Tongs. Everything else was new to me.

Thermemeter

Organizer

Spoons

PopTops

Cutting Board

All for making some Chicken Stock……that I eventually made into Chicken Soup!

Chicken Soup

Thank you so much, OXO, for supporting Home Cooks with your Outstanding products.
Thank you, Big Girls Small Kitchen, for hosting such fun contests!

Now go find a contest and Enter!

Until recently, I had almost ALL 20 years of Martha Stewart Living magazines in my home….safe in a custom built bookcase.
And, until recently, I never looked at them.
But I knew TheMartha wanted me to keep them.

But her TV show is just….So. Bad.
She was MEAN to the guests and her staff and the audience. MEAN.
And the magazine had….changed.

So I took bags and bags and bags of those magazines to my Recycling Center. And never shed a tear.
And I took the TV show off my DVR.

This is what put me over the edge.

Martha Stewart Letter

Followed by THIS friendly gem

Martha Stewart letter 2

I’ve been a loyal subscriber for 20 years.
I bought into it. I bought into the dream. I stuck by her even in Prison. I bought stuff at K-Mart.

I consider these letters to be THREATENING.
My subscription is NOT “overdue”.
I am no longer subscribing. I owe you NOTHING.

You’d THINK that after 20 years, someone would call ME and ask…..”Why are you not subscribing anymore?”
“You are an important component in our business!”
“We’d like you back.”

Instead, a THREAT comes monthly in my mail.
“PAY YOUR OVERDUE BALANCE OR ELSE!”

I’m Done.

Do.

My little word is DO.

I plan to DO the things I’ve been dreaming about for the last few years.
Not that Dreaming is bad. Dreaming is Easy.
Do-Ing. That’s the hard one.

The Lettered Cottage

The MomVan is tired. And her Tires are flat.
Took her to Country Tire today and she’ll be getting 2 new tires.

Country Tire uses HunTel Security

And when I was walking up to the door, I noticed a HunTel Security sign in their yard.
THAT was cool!

Always sad to send the Christmas Tree to the WoodPile. But.
She DID do THIS!
