Archives for the day of: October 5, 2009

We chose a standard room with a King Bed. The Greenbrier lists all their room levels on the website (which I LOVE) and you can look at the rooms. Great fun for those of us who like to gawk at different decor. When we checked in, the clerk also had a book that listed the room AND THE VIEW!
I didn’t care that much what our view was, but what a great service.
This room was large and was perfect for us.
The closet was as big as a New York apartment!
The towels were thick as a rug and HUGE. The maid came twice a day, so the towels were always fresh and the bed made.
Here are a few shots…

I admit it. I GAWKED at the Greenbrier. I stood around looking up at ceiling fixtures and down at marble floors and sat on furniture and kept saying OHMYGAWSH over and over.

The hotel was redecorated by Draper in the late 1940′s and it is still bright, fresh, clean, and not tired looking at all. It is a bit busy and I wouldn’t want to live in it, but it was so fun to see. Next two pictures are of one of the public bathrooms.  Took my breath away. I almost made Dan come IN and see them!!!
