Matt and I upheld our late night tradition again tonight.
Midnight purchases of the newest and latest and greatest video game and/or books.
We’ve stood in line for Harry Potter a few times and for video games that I knew nothing about.
Tonight, it was another new release.

Except my SEALtobe wasn’t with me in PERSON. He was texting me on my phone.
I stood in the line.
The only person in line with a MomVan.
I’m just that kind of Mom.

Then I got in that MomVan and drove to Lincoln. And dropped off that game. Which he will play tomorrow.
AFTER Physical Training.
AFTER Flag Ceremony Practice.
AFTER his classes.

Because he’s just that kind of Kid.

Chili and Cornbread. With Butter. And Honey.
Homey food for a tired businessman after a long day.

OH. And a Cookie.

We were shocked to see this little town in the middle of the desert….green and lush and thriving.

We were MOST INTRIGUED with this road! I can imagine it was first used by Native Americans and animals. Then, eventually, it became paved and was “THE ROAD”. I don’t know where this is or where it goes. It reminds me of my favorite saying, by Mary Engelbreit….”Wherever You Go, There You Are”.

I MUST include a post about the Airport Food we had in Denver, on our way home from Las Vegas.
We stopped at a wonderful Executive Airport for a potty break (for me) and a gas fill-up (NOT for Dan).
Usually, we stop at very small airports that have gas, bathroom facilities, and little else.
I sometimes BRING a picnic along for us to eat on the ground or we sometimes borrow the airport car and drive to a restaurant.
The MGMGrand had a sandwich shop and I suggested we pick up some sammiches to eat for our dinner.
The Pilot told me there was a restaurant AT the airport.
(ewwww, I immediately thought. Airport Food.)

Now Back In The Day, airports had GOOD food, and small airports even had their restaurants overlooking the airport, so diners could watch the planes come and go. Those are few and far between now….except here!

There was actually a LINE and we had to wait almost an hour to get a table. We kept ourselves busy….

I recently got an iTouch. I don’t know how to use it if Matt or Megan is not with me. But I can download my Twitter Twits and read them. Cool for ME!

I cannot stand how COOL these chairs are. AAAAAAUGHHHHHHH!

Generally, I made a nuisance of myself…taking pictures and twittering and finding plugins and sighing about green leather chairs….while waiting for THIS….

We fly our own plane. Dan has over 1000 hours of flying THIS airplane alone. He’s a great pilot.
We don’t have to take our clothes off and drudge through security.
My inflight entertainment and snacks are all the ones I like!
We leave on OUR schedule.
It’s FUN!

The View From the Backseat on this trip to LostWages was SO beautiful. I can really see the country from back there.
And the landscape changed from farmland to mountains to desert right before our eyes.

landscapes
The landscape on this trip was so beautiful that we just stared out the window for long stretches.
The clouds are also amazing. Who didn’t want to bounce on clouds when they were a child?

We DID encounter a tad bit of bumpy weather on this trip, which rivaled my experience on the Arnold’s Park Roller Coaster.
I was green and nauseas, but took some Dramamine and promptly went to sleep. I’m like Pavlov’s Dog. Dramamine….Sleep.
Dan was able to use his radar and driving skills to navigate through the storms. I think he likes doing that.

skyline-1
The Las Vegas Skyline has really changed since I was there last to see David Cassidy in EFX (at the MGMGrand, no less!…….same theater as KA.)

Taken looking out the back window of the plane. Unretouched.
Beautiful,  beautiful sunset.
Good Bye, Las Vegas!
