Yes. I went on the rollcoaster. I wasn’t nervous or nauseaus or filled with dread.
It was on my list of things to get done.
And I crossed it off!
I didn’t even pay attention when the roller coaster was BROKEN when we got there!

See Mr.Fixit under there?
But I’m getting ahead of myself. The Legend Rollsecoaster at Arnold’s Park Amusement Park on West Lake at Okoboji was built in 1927 and is actually the 13th oldest wooden roller coaster in the U.S.
It is made of wood. WOOD!

.

There is a sign at the top that says “The Point of No Return”.
This is it!
Matt and Megan rode with me…Dan, Dave and my parents were cheering from the ground.

Here we go!

...and a minute later!
Attractive, I know. Looks like my hair is flames!
The ride was so BUMPY. I was shocked at how bumpy it was.
You can ride along for yourself here!

My favorite boys bought me this t-shirt!

Love the pictures!! Now you need to come to West Point for that pedicure so you can cross it off your list too!
You’re brave! I once (ONLY ONCE) rode the roller coaster at Elitch Gardens here in Denver (it’s wooden also)….it scared the bejesus out of me and I ended up with my head down the entire time and my hands most likely left an indention on the bar I was clinging to…..roller coasters are not for me.
Net we should ride on the Mouse.
Oh, OSHA had that torn down years ago.
that is awesome! good for you! they are scary!
2 years ago we went to world’s of fun and i went on a big roller coaster and thought nothing of it….till it started. instantly i was terrified. and all i could do was scream. i was thinking “i am going to die and my kids will have no mother…all because of i wanted to go on this roller coaster” and that was that. no more the rest of the day or since. i was sure that that was the last one i needed to go on.
