So, the day is getting near. The day we take him to the University and
let
him
go.
Let his life start.
Let his dreams begin to take shape.
He is very excited. I’m not sure how READY he really is, but excitement will do for now.
We had a lazy Sunday afternoon, but I’m exhausted.
I went to the grocery store, which is tiresome.
But watching the Olympics all day can tire a girl out!!! All that swimming and diving and gymnastics. I hold my breath all the time. The show has been great so far.
I cooked most of the afternoon and we had a fun meal while watching the women’s gymnastics.
My whole goal today was to get the MomVan in for an oil change.
“Oh, and check that noise back there. The tire sounds kinda funny”
I was home 4 minutes when Dan messaged me. They had already called him about the MomVan’s back shoes. Gonna need TWO new ones.
Shoes on a MomVan and shoes for a Navy Seal means
no
shoes
for
me……
again.
Oh well. The 110,000 miles on her and she got some new back tires. And an oil change.
My other goal for the day was to watch the Olympics Opening Ceremony. I did. It was spectacular.
Since it is Fryday, I’m going to post some random pictures from my stash here on the computer.
I’m a Chamber kid. What that means is that I had great tickets to all local events, my Dad knew everyone in town, and we always shopped local.
My Dad recently retired after many years as a Chamber of Commerce exec. He did things people think just happen.
Last week, he was honored by the US Chamber with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Way to go, Dad!!! (You too, Mom.)
