It’s a flashback to 1981!
My Favorite Designer (Ralph Lauren) and my Favorite Styles ( Preppy and Comfortable) are coming together at one of my Favorite Stores! (JCPenney).
American Living has been on my radar for a few weeks now.
I read about it in the NYTimes online edition. (I like to read the Style Section on Wednesdays.)
I’ve been seeing TV ads for it and today JCPenney featured the line in their newspaper insert.
I got a catalog with it a few days ago.
And The Brand was also a BIG advertiser on the Academy Awards program.
I need to go to the store and SEE it!
But I tell you….does this NOT remind you of ME?!!!
It has been hard to be a Preppy these last few years of slutty clothes! And finding comfortable and tasteful home items has also been hard.
I got this Ralph Lauren book for Christmas and I love thumbing through it.
Times like this make me wish I had a job in advertising!

I saw the flyer in my Sunday fish wrapper, it all looked pretty good, do i see a design scheme for the Houseonthelake?
Oh and pink plaid shorts with a sweater knotted over the shoulder carrying a tennis racket. I never quite fit that look.
