Here’s a neat story about George Bush taking the Japanese Prime Minister to Graceland because Koizumi really likes Elvis.
"A dream come true", he said.

Not much different than Dan taking me to see David Cassidy.

So I am treated just as good as the Japanese Prime Minister!

Instead of loading up on beer……my family loads up on KETCHUP!!!

I had a job

This was one of the more glamorous days at Entgerview Cable.
DeSoto Bend had done a fish kill a week earlier, and I was out there filming the aftermath.
I loved my job.
I really did.
People often ask me how I ended up in Blair.
I had graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Journalism and Advertising.
That’s right. "Do you want Fries with that?".
Anyway, my first job "in my major" was here in Blair. I was gonna work here just for a while, and then maybe move on after I had some experience.
But I met Dan. And I loved Blair.
My job was very exciting. I wrote news that appeared as type on the TV. Channel 18. I helped sell ads, write, film, produce, and edit commercials that we inserted into local sports events. We filmed baseball, football and basketball games and re-played them on TV.
I learned alot there…..at Enterview Cable.
I made hardly a living wage, lived in a basement apartment with only a waterbed and a few pieces of furniture (which I still have) that my parents let me take.
I ate 1/2 can of soup for lunch and saved the other half for dinner.
I drove a yellow AMC Spirit car that only started when it was above 40* and shimmied if you went over 55. It was a shifter car! I hated getting stuck going west at 90th and Dodge. You had to both hold in the clutch and the brake and hope the car didn’t stall!

Megan is about where I was then.

I saw a quote the other day on a plaque at a store.

"Give them Roots and Give them Wings".

I hope I’ve done that. I hope now that she’s starting her own life, she has roots and wings.
And I hope she doesn’t fly very far away…………

I have 25,000 e-mails stored on this computer.
I would have more, but there was a crash a few years ago and I lost alot of information.

E-mails ARE information.
I delete the junk.
I delete the ones I don’t care about.
But the ones I kept……well, some of them are full of memories.

They help me remember times and events and daily life. There are so many from Dan, just saying hello, or asking me how I’m doing, or saying a quick "I love you." I’ve kept those.
(I also save his voicemails when he is flying….you just never know.)

I’ve kept alot of e-mails with great websites on them. My brother was always trying to get on HunTel.net’s website of the day…which I choose…..and he was constantly sending me funny websites. Here’s an example of one!

If I go back and read them in order, I can see how Fine Arts Booster events happened. Many were planned online with Malinda, who was working in Dallas at the time and came home on weekends.
I have e-mails from some of Megan’s teachers.
There are also a few, complimenting my children, from a person who saw them in a show or read something they did, or helped with something Megan or Matt also helped with.

Those e-mails are priceless.
A quick glimpse back. A quick snapshot. A visual memory.
Delete them?
No Way!!!

We may have the crappiest dock on the lake, but we’ve got the CUTEST sign!

Yes.
It is PolkaDot.
My husband is secure enough in his manhood that he can stomach a polkadot dock sign.
Cari made it for me.
She used the rules and regulations for dock signs as the base of the sign.
I love it.
Love the PolkaDots.
