Archives for the month of: January, 2006

1. I’m restless today.

2. I”ve been trolling ebay. I got all signed in and found I hadn’t bought anything in about 5 years! In the past, I’ve purchased some of my dishes…..they are by MA Hadley and are very hard to find in stores. They are sold in only one Omaha store.

3. Matt is growing every day….but he never seems to outgrow his clothes! He seems to be pretty excited about this semester. He turns 16 in March. I’m ready for him to start driving.

4. I’m thinking about going to my father’s bid for city council party on March 14.

5. My birthday is coming up…and it’s number 45. I should be thinking of what to do to celebrate!

…..sort of.
I was reading blogs instead of cleaning my gi-nor-mus house, and KelliCrowe tagged anyone who was reading her blog.
So, that’s ME!

Four Jobs I Have Had:
1. Soda Jerk at Happy Joe’s Pizza and Ice Cream Parlor in Carroll, Iowa.
2. JCPenney cashier and floor clerk in Carroll and Sioux City, Iowa.
3. Babysitter in college (high school, too)…..one of my favorite jobs.
4. CableWoman in Blair, Ne….my first "real" job. I would video local high school games, edit them with commercials and we’d play it on the local cable channel!

Movies I Watch Over and Over Again:
1. A Little Romance….ahhhhh. I just l-u-v this movie. "A French boy and an American girl meet in Paris and begin a little romance."
2. A Christmas Story…too good for just a one day marathon. "Ralphie has to convince his parents, teach and Santa that he won’t shoot his eye out".
3. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off…so funny. "One man’s struggle to just have a day off."
4. FlashDance….I know, I know. I watched this movie relentlessly during my last semester of College, instead of studying.

Years ago, I used to kinda know how to do "computer stuff".
I could make a webpage with Frontpage.
I could do a newsletter with Microsoft Word.
I had Dan to figure out what I couldn’t do.
And I had kids who were techno from Day 1 to help me.

Now, all that has changed.
It’s just another reminder that I’m getting old.

We just got back from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It was a MADHOUSE! There were 130,000 people there, plodding along, looking at electronics.
We went to look for "the next big thing". Something "new" for us to do.
We saw lots of big screen tv’s and content delivered to where you want it.

I was a little "out of it"!
I don’t watch television shows on my ipod.
(don’t even HAVE an ipod!)
I don’t watch movies on my cell phone.
(my phone doesn’t even take photos!)
I don’t download music on my computer.
(I only listen to David Cassidy CD’s anyway)

Where do I fit in?
Am I so old that technology has left me in the dust?

I AM going to take a Photoshop Class next month.
I really just want to learn it.

…..sigh……
maybe I’ll just go read a BOOK!!!

Well, not QUITE that bad.
Wait.
I DID give birth without an epidural…
and I DID have a kidney stone….
and I DID have appendicitis……

now I have a wayward Sciatic Nerve.
Left butt cheek down to my toes.
That nerve moved over and I can hardly walk. I limp.

I am pathetic!

Tylenol. Hot Compresses. Rest. Visits to the Chiropractor.
And it’s getting better.

Just another sigh that I’m getting old.
Last month to be 44.
I’m about half done!

no exercise.
but I AM going out for dinner!!!
