Archives for the month of: November, 2005

I have attention deficit disorder.

And an earache.
And Christmas decorations to put up.
And company parties to attend.
And books and magazines to read.
And shirts to iron.
And an invitation to get out.
And Christmas cards to write.
And packing to do.
And on and on and on.

Everyone has stuff to do.
Running lists in their heads.
Everyone.

I’m tired of my stuff today.
But I’m starting to want to give up on one item that’s been on my list for many years.
Not really give up.
Just move on.

The pain is overwhelming.
Maybe that’s why my ear hurts.

Photo_2005_10_28_23_34_11_1What is Red Mittens?

One Day, a long time ago, I probably had a dream that I had a business called Red Mittens. I’m not sure what that business was, but I liked the name.

Megan, who was a wee littel girl at that time, made me a logo. It is a simple drawing of two mittens connected with a string. The string spells "Red Mittns".

I had that big piece of paper hanging on my bulletin board.

I can’t find it now.

I can see it.
I can see it hanging there by one pin and it was crooked.
Now there is even a blank spot.

Where is it?
Where did it go?
I’ve been combing through drawers and boxes and bags down in my Crap Room.
Hopefully, it will show up.

In the meantime, my FIRST Photoshop Elements assignment will be to make myself a Red Mittens Logo!

Img_8697_editedOur neighborhood has a terrific kick-off to the holiday season party every year…usually the Saturday after Thanksgiving. (One year, I went on Sunday and it was on SATurday…but I’m learnin!)
Some years, it is rainy or snowy. THIS year, it was 55*!

Everyone shares some food and we all turn on our lights. So pretty.

It took alot of preparation, but the meal was pretty good. I had lots of help.

I’m thankful she’s home for Vacation.
She’s sitting in the kitchen with her computer, eatin’ ice cream and Chex Mix!
She even did an errand for me today.

Ahhhhh, she’s growing up!!!

Here’s my Handy Men putting up my Christmas Lights!!!!!

I would like these trees in our backyard to be DRIPPING with lights….different sizes. Right now , they are green lights.
But after working a while, we left the lights on to see how they would look in the dark.

I waited.

Not enough lights.
Gotta go buy some more……
Green ones.
Big, little, etc.

Because, for me, Christmas Lights are
DISPOSABLE.

I use them like paper plates.
One use, and they are shot!!!

Busy Busy day today.
Richard came over. Bryce came over. The Furnace guy came over. Customer 1 came over. I had to cook bannana bread and pumpkin bread and cookie dough and regular bread and clean and vaccuum and set the table and dust and organize.

I love it!!!!!
Got the turkey brining and tomorrow, I bake pumpkin pie and white cake and cookies and stuffing and green bean casserole and mashed potatoes to share with my family.

And I am grateful.
Grateful for the stress. Grateful our plates will be overflowing with food. Grateful for my beautiful daughter. Grateful for my awesome son. Grateful for my strong understanding noble husband.
Grateful for a mother-in-law who helps me all the time. Grateful for a nice neice and nephew and their parents who recently moved back to town.
I’ll miss my family in Florida, but they are just a phone call away.
